Meta-learning of dental X-rays is a machine learning technique that can be used to train models to perform new tasks quickly and with minimal input. Instead of just memorizing a task, this is accomplished through teaching a model how to learn. Algorithms for meta-learning are typically trained on a collection of training problems, each of which has a limited number of labelled instances.

The aim of this study was to compare IL-33 levels in serum, plasma, saliva and gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of subjects with chronic periodontitis (CP) in comparison with the control group (CG).
Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis followed the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) and was registered in the Open Science Framework (OSF): https://doi.
Background: Fixed dental prostheses (FDP) can affect the production of inflammatory cytokines causing damage to periodontal tissues. A systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out with the following two objectives: (1) to determine the prevalence and function of the different inflammatory cytokines present in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of teeth with metal-ceramic (M/C) and all-ceramic (A-Cs) prostheses, and (2) to analyze and compare the levels of inflammatory cytokines in GCF of teeth with M/C and A-Cs prostheses.
Methods: The protocol followed PRISMA and Cochrane guidelines and was registered in the OSF:10.
Background: Podoplanin (PDPN) is a transmembrane glycoprotein implicated in the pathogenesis of odontogenic lesions (OL). It is localized at the membrane and cytoplasmic level, and its interaction with other proteins could trigger cell proliferation, invasion and migration. The main objective of this systematic review is to explore the immunoexpression pattern of podoplanin in OL.

This article documents the protocol for immediate functional loading of fixed transient mandibular prostheses with fully moldable attachments and distal extensions to prevent fractures. A 56-year-old female patient was referred to the Oral Rehabilitation and Implantology Service due to periodontal problems, difficulty in chewing capacity and aesthetic compromise.

The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare salivary levels of the oxidative stress biomarker 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in patients with oral cancer (OC) compared to the control group by a comprehensive search of the available literature.
Methods: The present systematic review and meta-analysis followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) guidelines and was registered in Open Science Framework (OSF): https://doi.
Background: Cytokines play an important role in the immunopathogenesis of dental caries. A systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out with the following three objectives: 1)To deepen and discuss through a comprehensive analysis of the literature the effects of dental caries on the activity and levels of TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-8 in saliva of children and young adults, 2)To compare the levels of this cytokines in saliva of the exposure group (moderate-severe dental caries) with the control group (caries-free or mild dental caries), and 3)To determine whether the levels of these cytokines could be used as a complementary clinical diagnostic tool to assess the severity of dental caries.
Methods: The protocol followed PRISMA and Cochrane guidelines and was registered in the Open Science Framework (OSF): https://doi.
Objective: This systematic review aimed to investigate the changes in the composition of the subgingival microbiota among subjects with normo-weight, overweight and obesity, in conditions of periodontal health and disease.
Materials And Methods: The protocol for this study was designed following PRISMA guidelines. Records were identified using different search engines (PubMed/MedLine, Scopus and Web of Science).
Objective: To describe the existing knowledge about metal-free prosthetic biomaterials according to their physicochemical properties and based on this, define criteria for their placement in both the anterior and posterior sectors.
Materials And Methods: A digital search was carried out in the databases: PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar of the literature published in the English language without time restrictions and included original articles such as case reports, retrospective and prospective studies, narrative, comprehensive, systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Meanwhile, short communications, editorials and articles in a language other than English were excluded.
Background: Nanoparticles are increasingly used in dentistry for various applications, including enhancing the mechanical properties of denture base resins. This study aimed to comprehensively review and analyze the research landscape of nanoparticles and their effect on the flexural strength of denture base resins to identify key research areas and trends and to highlight the importance of collaboration between authors and institutions.
Methods: A Bibliometric Analysis was conducted using the Keywords "Nanoparticle*" AND "Denture*" OR "CAD/CAM.
Background: The IL-23/IL-17 axis plays an important role in the immunopathogenesis of periodontal disease. A systematic review was conducted to synthesize all research reporting on the levels of the IL-23/IL-17 axis in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) from subjects with gingivits, and periodontitis, compared to healthy controls.
Methods: The protocol followed the PRISMA, and Cochrane guidelines, and was registered with the Open Science Framework (OSF): https://doi.
Prosthetic biomaterials can affect the composition of the subgingival microbiota and consequently the production of proinflammatory cytokines, causing damage to the periodontium. A total of 40 patients were divided into two groups: 20 with monolithic zirconia (MZ) prostheses and 20 with porcelain fused to metal (PFM) with nickel-chromium (Ni-Cr) alloy prostheses. Subgingival plaque and gingival crevicular fluid samples were taken.

Furthermore, as a secondary objective, we determine whether the CX3CL1/CX3CR1 axis could be considered complementary to clinical parameters to distinguish between periodontitis and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and/or systemically healthy subjects.
Methods: The protocol used for this review was registered in OSF (10.
Background: Moebius syndrome (MS) is a rare, non-progressive, neuromuscular, congenic disease involving the oral maxillofacial region. The present study aimed to describe the oral and extraoral findings in MS patients and their comprehensive dental management.
Methods: A digital search was carried out in PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, restricted to articles in English from Jan 01, 2000, to Apr 02, 2023, following PRISMA guidelines.
Background: Ameloblastoma (AM), the benign counterpart of ameloblastic carcinoma, is a benign odontogenic tumor of epithelial origin, naturally aggressive, with unlimited growth potential and a high tendency to relapse if not adequately removed. Patients with AM treated surgically can benefit from dental implant therapy, promoting oral rehabilitation and improving their quality of life. The present study aimed to determine the survival rate of dental implants placed after surgical treatment of patients affected by AM.
