Geographic risk of classical swine fever in non-free regions in Brazil.

Brazil is the fourth largest producer and exporter of pork in the world, standing out for its potential to increase pig production nationwide. Among the diseases that can severely compromise trade relations and cause significant losses in pig production in Brazil, Classical Swine Fever (CSF) is notable for being a highly contagious viral disease with high potential for spreading among domestic and wild pigs, wild boars, and peccaries. The present study aimed to identify high-risk regions for CSF in Brazil through spatial, temporal, and spatiotemporal analyses from 2000 to 2023.

Use of native macrophyte for grey water treatment applying alternative bed substrate in constructed wetlands.

The compilation of ligand and structure-based molecular modeling methods has become an important practice in virtual screening applied to drug discovery. This systematic review addresses and ranks various virtual screening strategies to drive the selection of the optimal method for studies that have as their starting point a multi-ligand investigation and investigation based on the protein structure of a therapeutic target. This study shows examples of applications and an evaluation based on the objective and problematic of a series of virtual screening studies present in the ScienceDirect® database.

Neuromodulation of Acid-Sensitive Ion Channels (ASICs) and Anti-Inflammatory Potential by Lichenxanthone in Adult Zebrafish (Danio rerio): Experimental and Docking Studies.

Quality of health care in Primary Care: perspective of people with Diabetes Mellitus.

De novo design of bioactive phenol and chromone derivatives for inhibitors of Spike glycoprotein of SARS-CoV-2 in silico.

This work presents the synthesis of 12 phenol and chromone derivatives, prepared by the analogs, and the possibility of conducting an in silico study of its derivatives as a therapeutic alternative to combat the SARS-CoV-2, pathogen responsible for COVID-19 pandemic, using its S-glycoprotein as a macromolecular target. After the initial screening for the ranking of the products, it was chosen which structure presented the best energy bond with the target. As a result, derivative 4 was submitted to a molecular growth study using artificial intelligence, where 8436 initial structures were obtained that passed through the interaction filters and similarity to the active glycoprotein pocket through the MolAICal computational package.

The objective of this research is to apply exploratory analysis and modeling associated with abiotic factors, physiological and behavioral variables of swine in the semi-arid region. The experimental design used was completely randomized, in a 3 × 3 factorial scheme, randomly distributed in nine pens, with three animals. The behavior of the animals was recorded using images and analyzed within 10-min interval.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has pointed out the high vulnerability of developing countries to climate change, which is expected to impact food and income security. Sheep farming is one of the main animal productions among the families located in the most vulnerable regions of the semiarid region of Pernambuco state, a Brazilian territory known for its high temperatures, low relative humidity, and high net solar radiation. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify different regions of Pernambuco that may be more suitable for different breeds of sheep, based on non-parametric statistics and kriging maps of the temperature and humidity index (THI).

The psychometric analysis of the exam items using the Item Response Theory (IRT) may provide robust data that can help in the continuous improvement of this instrument.
