Probiotic B-1895 Improved Growth of Juvenile Trout.

The aim of this study was to evaluate a new B-1895 probiotic as a feed additive for farmed trout. Final weight, absolute and average daily gain of fish, and average daily growth rate were higher in the group that received the probiotic than in the control group (p<0.05).

The Epidemiological and Economic Impact of COVID-19 in Kazakhstan: An Agent-Based Modeling.

Is It Possible to Predict COVID-19? Stochastic System Dynamic Model of Infection Spread in Kazakhstan.

Background: Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, scientists have begun to actively use models to determine the epidemiological characteristics of the pathogen. The transmission rate, recovery rate and loss of immunity to the COVID-19 virus change over time and depend on many factors, such as the seasonality of pneumonia, mobility, testing frequency, the use of masks, the weather, social behavior, stress, public health measures, etc. Therefore, the aim of our study was to predict COVID-19 using a stochastic model based on the system dynamics approach.

Level of FABP3, FABP4, Nt-proBNP and Total Cardiovascular Risk in the Population of Central Kazakhstan.

Aim: The study analyzed the level of cytokines playing the significant role in the diagnosis of circulatory system diseases and total cardiovascular risk.

Material And Methods: The study involved 1,244 residents of Karaganda region. We had studied baseline participant characteristics, in addition to calculating the total cardiovascular risk and assessment of Fatty Acid Binding Proteins 3 (FABP3), Fatty Acid Binding Proteins 4 (FABP4) and N-Terminal Prohormone of Brain Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) level.

Computation of nonlinear parameters of heart rhythm using short time ECG segments.

We propose the method to compute the nonlinear parameters of heart rhythm (correlation dimension D₂ and correlation entropy K₂) using 5-minute ECG recordings preferred for screening of population. Conversion of RR intervals' time series into continuous function x(t) allows getting the new time series with different sampling rate dt. It has been shown that for all dt (250, 200, 125, and 100 ms) the cross-plots of D₂ and K₂ against embedding dimension m for phase-space reconstruction start to level off at m = 9.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are hematopoietic disorders characterized by ineffective hematopoiesis and progression to acute leukemia. In patients ineligible for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, azacitidine is the only treatment shown to prolong survival. However, with the availability of a growing compendium of cancer biomarkers and related drugs, analysis of relevant genetic alterations for individual MDS patients might become part of routine evaluation.

Biological characterization of Russian Mycoplasma gallisepticum field isolates.

An earlier study on commercial chickens and turkeys with a history of respiratory disease established Mycoplasma gallisepticum infection rates on 164 poultry farms of the Russian Federation. Forty-seven (29%) of these poultry farms were M. gallisepticum-positive by polymerase chain reaction but isolation of the mycoplasma was successful only on 10 farms.
