Adaptation and validation of the Measuring of Treatment Adherence for mental health.

Objective: to adapt culturally and validate the Measuring Instrument of Treatment Adherence for mental health.

Method: methodological study, carried out with 300 individuals with mental disorders, in two Psychosocial Care Centers in Curitiba, state of Paraná, Brazil, from April to June 2014. The cross-cultural adaptation was developed according to international recommendations, the construct validation was made by exploratory factor analysis, and internal consistency was verified by Cronbach's alpha.

Adherence of mental therapy for mental disorder patients to drug health treatment [corrected].

Objective: To assess the adherence of mental disorder patients to drug therapy for mental health treatment and the association between demographic, socioeconomic, clinical and pharmacotherapeutic variables to treatment adherence.

Method: A cross-sectional study conducted with mental disorder patients in two Psychosocial Care Centers in Curitiba/Paraná in 2014. Data from structured interviews and medical records were submitted to descriptive and bivariate analysis.

Elderly people with mental disorders: experiencing the use of psychotropic medicines.

Objective: To interpret the experience of the elderly with mental disorder in the use of psychotropic medicines.

Method: Qualitative study in the interpretative modality, supported by the Grounded Theory. It was carried out from interviews with 16 elderly people with mental disorder and six relatives, totaling 22 participants.

The home care teaching and learning process in undergraduate health care degree courses.

Home care, one of the services provided by the health system, requires health practitioners who are capable of understanding its specificities. This study aimed to build a substantive theory that describes experiences of home care teaching and learning during undergraduate degree courses in nursing, pharmacy, medicine, nutrition, dentistry and occupational therapy. A qualitative analysis was performed using the grounded theory approach based on the results of 63 semistructured interviews conducted with final year students, professors who taught subjects related to home care, and recent graduates working with home care, all participants in the above courses.

Drug addicts treatment motivations: perception of family members.

Objective: to identify the reasons and motivations why family members search treatment for the drug addicted.

Method: descriptive qualitative research, developed in 2012 and 2013, in a Drug Addicts Rehabilitation Unit of Parana State, Brazil. A total of 19 semi-structured interviews were conducted with the drug addicts' family members in treatment.

[Mental health care based on the psychosocial model: reports of relatives and persons with mental disorders].

This study was performed in 2009 in Curitiba, using the thematic oral history technique. The participants were eight individuals from three different families who had one relative suffering from a mental disorder. The objective of the study was to describe the perception of relatives and persons with mental disorders regarding mental healthcare based on the psychosocial model.

[Educational activities for people with chronic disease: grants for nursing].

This is an intervention study conducted in a Unidade Básica de Saúde (Basic Health Unit) in Colombo, Parana, Brazil from March to November 2009, with 35 carriers of chronic diseases aged between 18 and 60 years, and enrolled in the Hypertension and Diabetes Program. The objectives were to identify their knowledge about arterial hypertension and act through educational group activities. Data were collected though semistructured interviews and four group meetings, and the following categories emerged from the analysis: "Understanding of the disease" and "Ways of caring".

[Map of the family social support network for the promotion of child development].

This descriptive, qualitative study was performed from September to November 2009, at a Family Health Strategy unit in a city in the metropolitan region of Curitiba-PR. Participants were eight families, represented by mothers, fathers and grandmothers. The study objective was to identify the family social support network for the promotion of child development, from the family's perspective.

[A nursing team's approach to users of a mental health emergency room].

Unlabelled: This qualitative exploratory study was conducted in 2008, at a Municipal Emergency Care Center in Curitiba.

Objective: to learn about the conception of the nursing team about emergencies in mental health, and analyze how the nursing team approaches users with mental disorders in cases of emergency. Participants were 6 nurses and 7 nursing technicians working in emergency and hospitalization.

[The family and the mental disturbance carrier: dynamics and their family relationship].

Unlabelled: This exploratory study was performed from September to November 2008, with six families of patients with mental disorders from a patients and family association in Curitiba.

Objectives: to learn about the role of the family of patients with mental disorders, and to identify the family's perception of mental health - mental disorder, the patient with mental disorder and the mental health treatment. The data was obtained through Group Discussions and organized into thematic categories.

[Nursing care to patients with comorbidity clinical and psychiatric in hospital emergency service].

Qualitative descriptive, exploratory research developed in 2009, in the emergency service of a general hospital in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. It aims to investigate how nurses take care of patients with clinical and psychiatric comorbidity. Six nurses, seven nursing technicians and 14 nursing assistants participated.

[Adolescence in the perception of primary school teachers].

This qualitative research was performed with 11 primary school teachers at a state school in the city of Curitiba/Brazil, with the goal to identify how primary school teachers perceive adolescence. The information was collected by means of a Group Discussion strategy and organized in four theme-categories. The teachers' statements revealed the plurality of the adolescence process, stressing its uniqueness.
