Bloodstream Infection of a Cancer Patient by Cystobasidium minutum: A Case Report and Literature Review.

Emergent fungal infections are uncommon conditions which frequently lead to death. To our knowledge, only a few cases of invasive infection by Cystobasidium minutum (previously known as Rhodotorula minuta) have been reported. Moreover, several factors are responsible for deep site infections, such as catheter-related fungemia.
