Preliminary Validation Study of the French-Quebec Version of the Mild Behavioral Impairment Checklist.

Background: Alzheimer disease dementia may be preceded by cognitive stages during which behavioral and psychological changes can occur. More precisely, behavioral symptoms may be observed during the subjective cognitive decline (SCD) or the mild cognitive impairment (MCI) stages; these symptoms can be measured using the Mild Behavioral Impairment Checklist (MBI-C).

Objective: To validate the French-Quebec version of the MBI-C in individuals ages 60-85 years.

Risk of Neutropenia in Adults Treated with Piperacillin-Tazobactam or Cefazolin: A Retrospective Cohort Study.

Background: Neutropenia is an adverse effect associated with the use of several antibiotics, including piperacillin-tazobactam (P/T). Previous findings have suggested that the risk of neutropenia in children is significantly higher with P/T than with ticarcillin-clavulanate.

Objectives: To compare the risk of neutropenia associated with P/T and with cefazolin in an adult population and to describe the characteristics of neutropenia episodes observed.

Medium Increased Risk for Central Sleep Apnea but Not Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Long-Term Opioid Users: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Study Objective: Opioids are associated with higher risk for ataxic breathing and sleep apnea. We conducted a systematic literature review and meta-analysis to assess the influence of long-term opioid use on the apnea-hypopnea and central apnea indices (AHI and CAI, respectively).

Methods: A systematic review protocol (Cochrane Handbook guidelines) was developed for the search and analysis.
