Purpose: Enhanced recovery pathways (ERPs) are associated with reduced complications and length of stay. The validation of the I-FEED scoring system, advances in perioperative anesthesia, multimodal analgesia, and telehealth remote monitoring have resulted in further evolution of ERPs setting the stage for same day discharge (SDD). Pioneers and early adopters have demonstrated the safety and feasibility of SDD programs.

Patients with focal aortoiliac disease are often treated with bilateral "kissing" iliac stents through an endovascular approach. However, in patients with eccentric plaque morphology or smaller caliber vessels, the risk of distal embolization and vessel rupture is not insignificant.

Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted on all elective EVAR conducted from August 2010 to August 2017 in 14 regional hospitals of Kaiser Permanente Southern California. Patients undergoing emergent, nonelective abdominal aortic aneurysm repairs, thoracoabdominal aneurysm repair, requiring conversion to open surgery or general anesthesia were excluded from the study.
