Objective: The COVID-19 pandemic initiated public health measures, impacting mental health and exacerbating disordered eating behaviours (DEB). This study aims to fill gaps in understanding DEB in the general population during the pandemic, emphasising gender dynamics and the experiences of gender and/or sexual minority (SGM) individuals.

Method: A systematic literature review followed PRISMA guidelines to investigate DEB during the pandemic, focusing on gender-sensitive analyses and SGM populations.

Article Synopsis
  • This systematic review with meta-analysis investigates how food addiction (FA) affects weight loss intervention outcomes in individuals who are overweight or obese.
  • It examines 25 studies involving over 4,900 participants, focusing on the relationship between FA, as measured by the Yale Food Addiction Scale, and weight loss success.
  • The findings suggest that while FA presence may not significantly impact weight loss overall, its effects are more pronounced in behavioral interventions and among diverse ethnic groups, indicating a need for further research on the interaction between FA and mental health or environmental factors.

Narrative episodic memory of movie clips can be retroactively impaired by presenting unrelated stimuli coinciding with event boundaries. This effect has been linked with rapid hippocampal processes triggered by the offset of the event, that are alternatively related either to memory consolidation or with working memory processes. Here we tested whether this effect extended to spatial memory, the temporal specificity and extent of the interference, and its effect on working- vs long-term memory.
