Purpose: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of the fluocinolone acetonide implant (FAi, Iluvien Horus pharma, Nice, France) in non-infectious uveitic macular edema (UME) and to approach the predictive factors of treatment response.
Methods: This retrospective, multicenter real-life study included patients with chronic non-infectious UME who received intravitreal FAi after at least two dexamethasone implants (DEXi).
Results: Twenty-six eyes from 22 patients (73.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze retinal microvasculature in obese subjects as compared to a normal-weight population.
Methods: In this case-control observational study, swept-source optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) and adaptive optics (AO) were performed in eyes of nondiabetic, nonhypertensive, obese patients and in healthy controls. AO was used to calculate the wall-to-lumen ratio (WLR).
Purpose: To report visual and anatomical outcomes and determine predictors of good visual acuity (VA) recovery after macula-off rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD).
Methods: Prospective multicentre study including 115 eyes from 115 patients successfully operated on for RD, with assessment of VA and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) macular images at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months after surgery.
Results: Over the follow-up period, VA significantly improved from median [IQR] 62 [46; 72] ETDRS letters at 1 month to 75 [67; 80] ETDRS letters at 12 months (p < 0.
Medical-administrative databases are an important source of big data to assess the epidemiology of diseases and interventions, compare drugs, and investigate rare adverse events. We describe the French national health insurance system databases and the Epidemiology and Safety (EPISAFE) collaboration program in ophthalmology and illustrate the paper with recent studies that used the databases to investigate cataract surgery. The Système national d'information inter-régime de l'assurance maladie (SNIIR-AM) is one of the largest databases of medical and administrative data for a general population, covering nearly 65 million people.

Their accumulation in tissues can be analyzed by measuring the skin autofluorescence (sAF). We hypothesized that renal insufficiency, another cause of high sAF, may disturb the relation between sAF and DR.

Patchy atrophy and lacquer cracks are known to be major anatomic risk factors for the development of myopic CNV, but they are not alone and much remains to be understood about other factors that influence development. In addition, a greater understanding of the modifiable and nonmodifiable factors that influence outcome, resolution, and recurrence after intravitreal injection of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) could lead to more personalized treatment algorithms that integrate parameters other than the presence of CNV itself and could help improve clinical outcomes and reduce recurrence.

Methods: We evaluated multimodal imaging including fundus autofluorescence, spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT), fluorescein angiography, and indocyanine green angiography for a 32-year-old man with a history of repetitive self-inflicted handheld laser exposure.
Results: Funduscopic examination revealed bilateral and asymmetric yellow macular linear streaks with a vertical pattern in the superior macula.
Purpose: To report two cases of choroidal neovascular membrane associated with optic disc drusen which were successfully treated using argon laser photocoagulation.
Methods: Choroidal neovascular complications of optic disc drusen were diagnosed in two of our patients, a 36-year-old woman and a 14-year-old girl. In both cases visual acuity was 20/100 in the affected eye.
