Ethnopharmacological Relevance: In Brazil, Echinodorus macrophyllus (Alismataceae), popularly known as chapéu-de-couro, is used to treat inflammatory diseases. Methods: Hexane extract from P. polygalaeflorus fruits was fractionated and yielded four fractions.
