Health Policies for Rare Disease Patients: A Scoping Review.

Objective: To identify and map the available evidence on the implementation of public health policies directed at individuals with rare diseases, and to compare the implementation of these health policies between Brazil and other countries.

Method: A scoping review guided by the PRISMA-ScR and JBI checklists. The search for articles was conducted in eight electronic databases, MEDLINE/Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus, CINAHL, PsycINFO, and LILACS, using controlled descriptors, synonyms, and keywords combined with Boolean operators.

Recurring violence against adolescents: an analysis of notifications.

Objective: to identify the frequency of reported cases of recurring violence against adolescents and their association with victim, violence, and aggressor characteristics.

Method: cross-sectional study conducted with notified data on violence against adolescents, produced by Epidemiological Surveillance and registered in the Information System of Diseases and Notification (SINAN), from 2011 to 2018, in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil.

Results: the frequency of recurring violence against adolescents was 46.

Down Syndrome in Brazil: Occurrence and Associated Factors.

Background: Down syndrome is the most frequent genetic cause of intellectual disability, with an estimated birth prevalence of 14 per 10,000 live births. In Brazil, statistical data on the occurrence of babies born with Down syndrome remain unclear. We aimed to estimate the occurrence of Down syndrome between 2012 and 2018, and to observe its association with maternal, gestational, paternal characteristics, and newborn vitality.

Management tools in nursing care for children with pressure injury.

Objectives: to develop and validate management tools for the systematization of nursing care for children with pressure injuries.

Methods: methodological study in which the focus group technique was used for validation of tools in three different groups of 17 nurses. Conducted in April and May 2018 at a large pediatric hospital.

Baby-friendly hospital initiative: evaluation of the ten steps to successful breastfeeding.

Objective: To asses the performance of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding in an university hospital.

Methods: Descriptive and quantitative research, in which 103 people were interviewed in the outpatient prenatal clinic, in the maternity-ward and in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of a university hospital in Vitória, Southeast Brazil. The "Institutional Self-Evaluation Questionnaire" of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative was applied.
