Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to compare early and delayed phases of contrast-enhanced thoracic CT for assessing pleural lesions in patients with malignant pleural effusions.
  • Six observers reviewed CT images from 36 patients, scoring the quality of visualization of pleural thickening or nodules and indicating which phase image they preferred.
  • Results showed that the delayed phase had significantly higher mean attenuation of pleural lesions and was preferred by the observers in 77.8% to 91.7% of cases, indicating it is more effective for evaluating pleural findings.
