- Cecropia hololeuca, found in tropical regions of Central and South America, is traditionally used by locals for various medicinal purposes including anti-inflammatory and anti-asthmatic properties.
- The study aimed to evaluate the pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects of an aqueous extract of C. hololeuca in a mouse model suffering from arthritis and to identify the active compounds responsible for these effects.
- Results demonstrated that the aqueous extract significantly reduced pain and inflammation in the tested mice, showing promising potential for treatment, particularly in regards to joint swelling and immune response.
