Comparison of Different Irrigants in the Removal of Endotoxins and Cultivable Microorganisms from Infected Root Canals.

This study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of different irrigants used to remove endotoxins and cultivable microorganisms during endodontic therapy. Forty root canals were contaminated and divided into groups according to the irrigant: 2% NaOCl + surfactant, 2% CHX, 2.5% NaOCl, and pyrogen-free saline solution (control).

Correlation of prosthetic status with the GOHAI and TMD indices.

This study sought to find a correlation between the prosthetic status and TMD and between the prosthetic status and self-perception of oral health in a Brazilian elderly population (n = 400). Prosthetic status was recorded in clinical examinations, and TMD was determined by applying the Helkimo index. Self-perception of oral health was evaluated based on the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI).
