The aim was to assess the role of Metabolic Syndrome (MetS) diagnostic markers, recommended by three different guidelines, in the prediction of hyperglycemia in pregnancy. This cross-sectional cohort study included 506 non-diabetic women, with a singleton pregnancy, who underwent a diagnostic test for hyperglycemia at 24-28 weeks. Clinical, anthropometric, and laboratory data were obtained.

Understanding the mechanism by which SBTX acts on fungi and yeasts may contribute to the design of novel antifungal drugs and/or the development of transgenic plants resistant to pathogens. To this end, the polymorphic yeast C.

Since hsp72 has been associated with the regulation of obesity-induced insulin resistance, we evaluated associations between glucose ingestion, hsp72 release and insulin production in Black pregnant women. Specifically, the effect of a 50-g glucose challenge test (GCT) on heat shock protein and insulin levels in the circulation 1 h later was evaluated.
