From Experimentation to Optimization: Surface Micro-Texturing for Low-Friction and Durable PTFE-Steel Interfaces Under Full Film Lubrication.

To enhance the sliding tribological performance between PTFE and 40#steel (AISI 1040) under full film lubrication conditions, laser surface texturing (LST) technology was employed to prepare micro-dimples on the contact surfaces of 40# steel discs. The Box-Behnken design response surface methodology (BBD-RSM) was applied to optimize the micro-dimple parameters. Coefficients of friction (COFs), wear losses and worn contact surfaces of the PTFE-40# steel tribo-pairs were researched through repeated wear tests, as lubricated with sufficient anti-wear hydraulic oil.

The treatment of primary biliary cholangitis: from shadow to light.

Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a chronic autoimmune cholestatic disease characterized by the destruction of the small intrahepatic bile ducts, which can progress to liver cirrhosis. The gold standard in the treatment of PBC is ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), which is indicated in all patients with PBC because it improves not only biochemical parameters but also patients' survival. An important milestone in the identification of patients at risk is the assessment of biochemical response to UDCA.

Association between location of prenatal care services and non-consented cesarean sections in Mexico: A secondary analysis of the National Survey on the Dynamics of Household Relationships 2016.

Background: Mexico has one of the world's highest rates of cesarean section (C-section). Little is known about Mexico's frequency of and risk factors for non-consented C-sections, a form of obstetric violence. We examined the prevalence of sociodemographic and obstetric-specific characteristics of Mexican women who delivered via C-section, as well as the association between the location of prenatal care services and experiencing a non-consented C-section.

Prevalence of different variations of non-consented care during the childbirth process in Mexico by geographical regions: comparing ENDIREH survey data from 2016 to 2021.

Introduction: Non-consented care, a form of obstetric violence involving the lack of informed consent for procedures, is a common but little-understood phenomenon in the global public health arena. The aim of this secondary analysis was to measure the prevalence and assess change over time of non-consented care during childbirth in Mexico in 2016 and 2021, as well as to examine the association of sociodemographic, pregnancy-, and childbirth-factors with this type of violence.

Prognostic Value of Neurotrophic Tyrosine Receptor Kinase Gene Fusions in Solid Tumors for Overall Survival: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Purpose: Evidence suggests that neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase () gene fusions in solid tumors are predictive biomarkers for targeted inhibition across a number of adult and pediatric tumor types. However, despite robust clinical response to tyrosine receptor kinase (TRK) inhibitors, the natural history and prognostic implications of fusions in solid tumors are poorly understood. The Challenges of Colorectal Cancer Surgery during the COVID-19 Pandemic in Romania: A Three-Year Retrospective Study.

The predictions on the influence of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on access to medical services in Romania predicted a 35% drop in oncological hospitalizations in 2020 compared to the previous decade, raising the hypothesis that patients with colorectal cancer can become indirect victims of the ongoing pandemic. Therefore, the aim of the current research was to observe how the COVID-19 pandemic influenced colorectal cancer surgery in Romania, to determine the level of addressability towards specialized care, to compare the cancer staging between the pandemic and pre-pandemic periods, and to observe the risk factors for disease progression. This retrospective study was spread over three years, respectively, from March 2019 to March 2022, and included a total of 198 patients with a history of colorectal cancer surgery.

Burgers Turbulence in the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou Chain.

We prove analytically and show numerically that the dynamics of the Fermi-Pasta-Ulam-Tsingou chain is characterized by a transient Burgers turbulence regime on a wide range of time and energy scales. This regime is present at long wavelengths and energy per particle small enough that equipartition is not reached on a fast timescale. In this range, we prove that the driving mechanism to thermalization is the formation of a shock that can be predicted using a pair of generalized Burgers equations.

Lysinibacillus xylanilyticus Strain GIC41 as a Potential Plant Biostimulant.

To identify Lysinibacillus strains with the potential to function as plant biostimulants, we screened 10 previously isolated Lysinibacillus strains from the rhizosphere and soil for their plant growth-promoting (PGP) effects. In vitro tests showed that all strains produced indole-3-acetic acid.
