Background: Gastric cancer disproportionately impacts populations in resource-limited settings. Within a safety-net network, we assessed the utility of computed tomography (CT) as a single staging modality.

Methods: We utilized a clinical database of gastric cancer patients treated within the Los Angeles County safety-net hospital system from 2016 to 2023 in conjunction with retrospective imaging review by certified radiologists.

Nuclear forensics techniques, including micro-XRF, gamma spectrometry, trace elemental analysis and isotopic/chronometric characterization were used to interrogate two, potentially related plutonium metal foils. These samples were submitted for analysis with only limited production information, and a comprehensive suite of forensic analyses were performed. Resulting analytical data was paired with available reactor model and historical information to provide insight into the materials' properties, origins, and likely intended uses.

Actinide isotope measurements are a critical signature capability in the modern nuclear forensics "toolbox", especially when interrogating anthropogenic constituents in real-world scenarios. Unfortunately, established methodologies, such as traditional total evaporation via thermal ionization mass spectrometry, struggle to confidently measure low abundance isotope ratios (<10(-6)) within already limited quantities of sample. Herein, we investigate the application of static, mixed array total evaporation techniques as a straightforward means of improving plutonium minor isotope measurements, which have been resistant to enhancement in recent years because of elevated radiologic concerns.

Aneurysms of the middle meningeal artery are rare, with no documented association with neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2). Middle meningeal artery aneurysm embolization with N-butylcyanoacrylate has not been described, and altogether, few accounts exist regarding the endovascular management of these unusual aneurysms. In this case report of a patient with NF2, an unruptured middle meningeal artery aneurysm was prophylactically embolized in a previously unreported fashion by using N-butylcyanoacrylate acrylic glue.
