The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of combining two injectable progesterone (iP4) formulas for estrous synchronization in ewes and to compare it with traditional intravaginal progesterone devices. Additionally, the study assessed whether the inclusion of GnRH enhances the reproductive outcomes of the iP4 treatment. Two experiments were conducted.

In the present work, a simple soft chemistry method was employed to prepare cobalt mixed oxide (CoO) materials, which have shown remarkably high activity in the heterogeneously catalyzed total oxidation of low reactive VOCs such as the light alkanes propane, ethane, and methane. The optimal heat-treatment temperature of the catalysts was shown to depend on the reactivity of the alkane studied. The catalytic activity of the CoO catalysts was found to be as high as that of the most effective catalysts based on noble metals.

Melatonin is a natural hormone synthesised in the pineal gland, the activity of which is regulated by day-night perception and dictates seasonal rhythms in reproduction in ovine species. Exogenous melatonin, administered via subcutaneous implants, is used to prolong the breeding season of ewes and can increase the proportion of pregnant ewes (fertility rate) and litter size. The increased proportion of ewes that become pregnant and the number of lambs born per lambing among melatonin-treated sheep may be caused by increased embryo survival, through enhanced luteal function, reduced antiluteolytic mechanisms, or improved embryo quality.

Previous studies show controversial results regarding the influence of age on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with Fibromyalgia (FM). While some studies suggest that elderly patients have a worse HRQOL when compared with younger patients, others did not find differences according to age. The aim of the study was to analyse the impact of FM on HRQOL as far as patients' age is concerned.

Oral corticosteroids are the most effective drugs for illness management, especially in near-fatal asthma (NFA) patients. Prescription of oral corticosteroids in other groups of asthmatic patients has been shown to be related not only to clinical features of the illness, but also to psychological variables, what suggests the need to investigate this relationship specifically in NFA patients. Forty-two NFA patients aged 18--83 were interviewed to collect data on sociodemographics, clinical features and psychological variables, specifically panic-fear, anxiety and depression; 45.
