Theranostic drugs represent an emerging path to deliver on the promise of precision medicine. However, bottlenecks remain in characterizing theranostic targets, identifying theranostic lead compounds, and tailoring theranostic drugs. To overcome these bottlenecks, we present the Theranostic Genome, the part of the human genome whose expression can be utilized to combine therapeutic and diagnostic applications.

Article Synopsis
  • Molecular medicine aims to understand diseases at the molecular level and apply this knowledge to create targeted diagnostics and therapies.
  • The concept of the Imageable Genome is introduced, representing parts of the human genome detectable through molecular imaging, enhanced by a deep learning hybrid pipeline linking genes to imaging methods.
  • Analyzing RNA-seq data from over 60,000 individuals identifies important imageable genes associated with various human diseases, paving the way for new imaging tools that enhance disease understanding and treatment.

Sometimes unexpected extraosseous uptakes appear in a bone scintigraphy as a consequence of a wide spectrum of nonosseous disorders. Recognition of these findings is important to enhance the diagnostic value of bone scintigraphy. We report a case of intense bone scintigraphy cutaneous uptake due to elastolytic actinic giant cell granuloma (EAGCG).

Aim: To report our data concerning the changes in post-stress and at-rest left ventricular ejection fraction and ventricular volumes in patients with thallium gated SPECT.

Methods: Post-stress and at-rest thallium gated SPECT was performed in 629 consecutive patients; left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), left ventricular volumes and quantitative perfusion data were obtained. Transitory left ventricular dysfunction was diagnosed when post-stress LVEF did not increase at least 5% from LVEF at-rest.
