Article Synopsis
  • - The study examined service providers in Brazil's Unified National Health System (SUS) regarding high-risk neonatal care by analyzing public database data on hospital admissions for newborns from 2013 to 2015.
  • - Researchers used the TwoStep Cluster method to categorize these providers into three distinct groups based on the complexity of their hospitalizations: low-complexity, surgical-profile, and higher complexity.
  • - Findings indicated regional variations in the use of neonatal intensive care, and the study suggested that these records, combined with analytical techniques, could aid SUS administrators in better organizing neonatal healthcare services.
