Endometriosis is defined by the presence of endometrial-like glands and/or stroma outside the uterus. The prevalence of endometriosis in postmenopausal women is reported to be 2.55%, which is much lower than that in reproductive-aged women.

Treatment after endometrioma recurrence: a narrative review.

Introduction: Ovarian endometrioma is a common subtype of endometriosis with a prevalence between 17 and 44%. The reported average recurrence of endometrioma after surgical management is 21.5% after 2 years and 40-50% after 5 years.

An umbrella review of the evidence associating diet and cancer risk at 11 anatomical sites.

There is evidence that diet and nutrition are modifiable risk factors for several cancers, but associations may be flawed due to inherent biases. Nutritional epidemiology studies have largely relied on a single assessment of diet using food frequency questionnaires. We conduct an umbrella review of meta-analyses of observational studies to evaluate the strength and validity of the evidence for the association between food/nutrient intake and risk of developing or dying from 11 primary cancers.

Expression of HPV-related biomarkers and grade of cervical intraepithelial lesion at treatment.

Objectives: New human papillomavirus (HPV)-related biomarkers may allow better identification of clinically significant lesions that warrant excision and, conversely, identification of the false positive cases that have been overreported by traditional techniques. The aim of this study was to investigate how the expression of several HPV-related biomarkers correlates to the severity of the lesion at treatment.
