Oral-health-related quality of life is expected to have multiple dimensions. The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between the oral health and the quality of life in a group of 123 elderly people who attended our clinic. All of them responded to a questionnaire concerning the way they perceived the effect of oral health on different parameters related to the quality of life.

Unlabelled: Atomic force microscopy can be used to observe the surface changes of dental acrylic resins, providing valid information about the degradation and performance in time of these materials.
Aim: To investigate the influence of pH on the surface roughness of heat cured denture base acrylic resins using atomic force microscopy.
Material And Method: Two commercially available heat cured denture base acrylic resins were used to fabricate 18 test samples (2,5x1 cm2).
Xerostomia represents the main symptom in several secretor dysfunctions, but can be also met as a stand alone disease. The goal of the current study is to remark the oral cavity changes in patients with xerostomia and the incurring factors. The research was carried on two groups : a study group (76 xerostomia clinical cases) and a control group (72 clinically healthy patients).
View Article and Find Full Text PDFCurrent methods used by health providers in early detection of oral cancers have some shortcomings, this is why, besides the clinical examination that combines the study of the head and neck, oral cavity, and the evaluation of general health status, now are available new ones, like intra oral camera, digital imaging, and computerized expert systems which offer new opportunities for clinically significant data collection, analysis, storing and use. Oral cancers are part of the upper aero-digestive cancers therefore they share the same epidemiologic features and risk factors. Main risk factors are tobacco and alcohol consumption.
