Introduction: The term sarcopenia is defined as age-related loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, with a consequent impact on quality of life. However, there is a lack of studies examining the prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM).
Objectives: To analyze the prevalence of sarcopenia in patients over 65 years with type 2 DM and the influence of physical activity, diet, glycemic control, sex, age, and quality of life.
Objective: To determine the influence of dysfunctional thoughts and their relationship on the burden of caregivers.
Method: Descriptive study conducted in the San Andrés Torcal Health Centre, Malaga, Spain, in 2010.
Subjects: A random sample was selected from dependent person caregivers of the centre.
