Necrotizing fasciitis caused by group A Streptococcus is an uncommon infection of the subcutaneous tissue and fascia, with a high mortality rate due to its rapid progression to shock and multiorgan failure. It usually develops in extremities after trauma or previous injury. Early diagnosis is essential as well as fast and aggressive management.

Oral-facial-digital syndrome type 1 (OFD1; OMIM #311200) is a developmental disorder transmitted as an X-linked dominant condition with embryonic male lethality.
