Fused deposition modelling (FDM)-printed parts can be treated with various post-processes to improve their mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy and surface finish. Samples of polylactic acid (PLA) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) parts are treated with annealing to study a ceramic powder mould's effectiveness in order to avoid dimensional part deformation. This paper presents an end milling study of BFRP fabricated by resin transfer molding (RTM), to evaluate delamination types at the top layer of the machined edge with different cutting conditions (cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut) and fiber volume fraction (40% and 60%). This work quantifies delamination types, using a parameter Sd/L, that evaluates the delamination area (Sd) and the length (L), taking into account tool position in the yarn and movement of yarns during RTM process, which show the random nature of delamination.

Introduction: Listeria monocytogenes is an unusual pathogenic agent in the general population, but is an important cause of bacteriemia and meningoencephalitis among newborns, pregnant women, the elderly population, and immunosuppressed patients. In rare cases, it has been described in joint prosthesis infections.
Methods: A case description of prosthetic joint infection caused by Listeria in a 74-year-old man is presented.

Microbiological diagnosis of bacterial lower respiratory tract infections has relevant limitations and related controversy, depending on the clinical setting and diagnostic methods used, and its value is contingent on an accurate clinical diagnosis and previous antimicrobial therapy. The limitations reside in a low diagnostic yield of the causative agent and the difficulty of determining the clinical significance of the agents recovered. This report examines the current microbiological diagnostic yield of the main clinical entities and etiological agents, indications for invasive or non-invasive specimen collection procedures, and proper specimen processing and culture in the appropriate media.

Among these 140 cases, there were 82 cases (59%) of postoperative meningitis and 58 cases (41%) of spontaneous meningitis. Eighty-six patients (61%) were adults and 54 (39%) were children.

Nevertheless, the recently elucidated genomic structure of this pathogen strongly suggest that this organism may have been subjected to the process of reductive genetic evolution which is characteristic of intracellular bacteria.
