Cognitive deterioration after venlafaxine overdose.

Background: Venlafaxine is an antidepressant whose adverse event profile is similar to that of the SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). Serious complications due to venlafaxine overdose have been described. These generally have been resolved with supportive measures alone.
