Ways of living and working of Haitian immigrants in Western Paraná/Brazil.

Objective: To analyze the migratory process, ways of living, and working conditions of Haitians residing in the municipality of Cascavel, Paraná, as well as their impact on health conditions, consumption patterns, and political and ideological life.

Method: cross-sectional observational design. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews conducted from December 2019 to December 2020 with 128 participants who were Haitian immigrants residing in the municipality.

Social representations of the right to health on the trinational border.

This article describes a study based on a qualitative approach that aimed to analyze the social representations of opinion makers about the right and access to health in the cross-border territoriality of Foz do Iguaçu-Paraná. To achieve that goal, interviews were conducted with leaders of social movements, university professors, health workers and journalists. Moscovici's Social Representations Theory was used with a focus on the three-dimensional analysis to process data.

The multidisciplinary team's perception on the structure of mental health services: phenomenological study.

Objective: To understand the multidisciplinary team`s perception in relation to the mental health services` organizational structure in the city of Cascavel-Paraná.

Methods: It is exploratory, descriptive, qualitative study with Alfred Schütz's Social Phenomenology approach. The information was collected through a semi structured interview with professionals of those services, between May and July 2016 and analyzed from the social phenomenology`s assumptions.

[Regional integration of healthcare services in twin cities, Paraná State, Brazil].

This field research aimed to identify healthcare integration among four twin cities in Paraná State, Brazil, the determinants of cross-border movements of foreigners, and the obstacles to such integration. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants that were analyzed with thematic content analysis. The results showed that asymmetries in the structure, resources, supply, and quality of the network's health services are determinants of cross-border movements.

The history of a movement: Saúde em Debate magazine and Brazilian health reform.

This article traces significant moments in the history of the magazine Saúde em Debate - sourcing references and information from documents, historical studies, editions of the magazine, academic work and interviews with physicians and writers who contributed to its creation. In its 39 years of existence, although there may have been variations in the magazine's editorial policy, its role as a means for exchange of ideas and debate on critical health thinking, and making a contribution by in some way intervening in the Brazilian political process, has not changed. The magazine established itself with a firm reputation as a vehicle of scientific communication especially in the areas of health policy and management, expanding the scope of subjects over time.

Diagnosis of the situation of health workers and the training process at a regional center for professional health education.

The policy of professional health education has been put into operation by the centers of professional health education in a decentralized way. Aiming to identify the needs of the health sector at a regional level, a survey was carried out to investigate the situation of workers in the public health network of 22 cities in the 10th Paraná Health District, Brazil. Questionnaires and document analysis were used in this qualitative and quantitative exploratory study.

[Historical rescue of the first nursing weeks in Brazil and the national conjuncture].

In this text we reflect about the thematic axles of 65a Brazilian Week of Nursing, "rescue of Nursing history, of ABEn, and thus of Brazilian Week of Nursing", where it searched to relate some politicians events who had occurred from the third decade of century XX, when initiates the Weeks of Nursing, disclosing determined existing relations the politicians moments and the proposals of these scientifics/culturals. The analysis perspective to interpret the reality from history, understanding the events, as resulted of the men and women action determined by different economic contexts, politician and social-cultural, which helps to compose the picture and to define the objective and subjective conditions where some involved actors.

[Evaluation and design of a political-pedagogical project for nursing undergraduate programs].

This work presents the results of an experience which aimed primarily at the evaluation of the Political-Pedagogical Project--PPP of the nursing undergraduate program from UNIOESTE (Cascavel town Campus) and at pondering on a new curricular proposal for that program. Thus, a research project was designed to be used by all professors teaching that program, with the participation of students, former students, and professionals working on the health care delivery network, where field work can be carried out through practical activities and training periods for the students. The data gathered by them have been used as subsidies for a proposal to build a new political-pedagogical project, that was took effect in the year 2003.

[Health policies and the humanization of care].

This essay consists of a reflection on the theme proposed on the 63rd Brazilian Nursing Week. It was initially elaborated for a conference, which would be presented in a commemorative nursing event. The essay relates the theme "humanization and work: reason and signification in nursing" to the current health policies implemented in Brazil.
