Chemical, Radiometric and Mechanical Characterization of Commercial Polymeric Films for Greenhouse Applications.

In the agricultural sector, companies involved in the production of plastic greenhouses are currently searching for a suitable covering adapted for every climate in the world. For this purpose, this research work has determined the chemical, radiometric and mechanical properties of 53 polymeric films samples from Europe and South America. The chemical tests carried out with these samples were elemental analysis (C, H and N) and FT-IR spectrometry.

Effects of the electrical conductivity of a soilless culture system on gamma linolenic acid levels in borage seed oil.

Borage is a well-known plant of great importance in human nutrition and health. Expanding knowledge of particular plants that have anti-cancer products is a global concern. There is substantial information regarding the benefits, presence and extraction of gamma linolenic acid (GLA; 18:3n6) in different plants around the world, especially in borage seeds.

Effect of transfer of a poor quality embryo along with a top quality embryo on the outcome during fresh and frozen in vitro fertilization cycles.

Objective: To evaluate the impact of a poor quality embryo (PQE) during double ET (DET) with a top quality embryo (TQE) on IVF outcome.

Design: A review of prospectively collected data.

Setting: Tertiary level fertility clinic.

Differential expression analysis by cDNA-AFLP of Saccharum spp. after inoculation with the host pathogen Sporisorium scitamineum.

A differential expression study on the Saccharum spp.-Sporisorium scitamineum pathogenic interaction was carried out in the susceptible Ja60-5 and the resistant M31/45 genotypes. Using cDNA-AFLP analysis, a total of 64 transcript-derived fragments (TDFs) was found to be differentially expressed, with the majority (67.
