Objectives: to reflect on theoretical framework use in nursing research.

Methods: a theoretical-reflexive study, based on concepts and constructs pertinent to using nursing theories and other sciences, considering issues of epistemology or philosophy of science.

Results: we presented what it is and why to do nursing research and what a theoretical framework is and why to use it, in addition to some considerations regarding theoretical framework use in nursing research, essential for constructing disciplinary knowledge, which enables the materialization of researchers' work and the presentation of propositions resulting from investigations in and for nursing as a discipline and science.

Unlabelled: Caregivers who provide transitional care to people with functional dependence require the mastery of skills that ensure successful continuity of care. This domain of care requires nursing interventions to support the caregiver. This study aims to understand aspects of the development of caregiver mastery for continuity of care after hospital discharge.

The ALOG gene family, which was named after its earliest identified members ( Arabidopsis LSH1 and Oryza G1), encodes a class of transcription factors (TF) characterized by the presence of a highly conserved ALOG domain. These proteins are found in various plant species playing regulatory roles in plant growth, development, and morphological diversification of inflorescence. The functional characterization of these genes in some plant species has demonstrated their involvement in floral architecture.

Objectives: to present the validation process of a Grounded Theory on the management of palliative care at home by a caregiver of a family member who experiences a death/dying process.

Methods: a qualitative, explanatory research, which validated a theoretical matrix through a conversation circle containing 15 family caregivers and nine healthcare professionals, in December 2018.

Results: forty-six propositions were validated regarding family caregivers' contextual, causal, intervening conditions, consequences and action strategies to deal with the dying and death process of a family member.

Objective: To construct a nursing care protocol for children in post-hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Method: Methodological research carried out from January to September 2019, in three steps: (a) integrative review (nursing care was identified); (b) theoretical structuring and organization of healthcare based on the Theory of Basic Human Needs and on the International Classification for Nursing Practice (supplementing the review data); and (c) development of a protocol in the three previously mentioned stages. Analysis of the understanding of the protocol's items/care was performed by three specialist nurses.

Objectives: to describe the use of the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) in the construction of a nursing care protocol for children undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Methods: experience report.

Results: nursing problems were defined based on complications identified in a previous study; later, the ICNP® enabled the organization and systematization of childcare.

Objective: To describe the reflection-action process for the development of nurses' competence in prenatal care.

Method: Action research with 30 nurses from primary health care in a municipality in the south of the country, through workshops held between June and August 2019, analyzed according to Creswell.

Results: Nurses identify nursing consultation as a differential in prenatal care; point out the ignorance of work processes as an obstacle to the protagonism in prenatal care; and they highlight the registration of activities and the dissemination of the nurse's role with the team and the population as aspects that strengthen and value the profession.

Microorganisms are effective platforms for the production of a variety of chemicals including biofuels, commodity chemicals, polymers and other natural products. However, deep cellular understanding is required for improvement of current biofuel cell factories to truly transform the Bioeconomy. Modifications in microbial metabolic pathways and increased resistance to various types of stress caused by the production of these chemicals are crucial in the generation of robust and efficient production hosts.

Psidium cattleyanum Sabine is an Atlantic Forest native species that presents some populations with red fruits and others with yellow fruits. This variation in fruit pigmentation in this species is an intriguing character that could be related to species evolution but still needs to be further explored. Our goal was to provide genomic information for these morphotypes to understand the molecular mechanisms of differences in fruit colour in this species.

Yeasts are one of the mostly used microorganisms as models in several studies. A wide range of applications in different processes can be attributed to their intrinsic characteristics. They are eukaryotes and therefore valuable expression hosts that require elaborate post-translational modifications.
