Background: Virtual consultations have increased exponentially, but a limitation is the inability to assess vital signs (VS). This is particularly useful in patients with heart failure (HF) for titrating prognosis-modifying medication. This issue could potentially be addressed by a tool capable of measuring blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) accurately, remotely, and conveniently.

Methods And Results: One hundred and eighty-seven patients admitted with acute heart failure (HF) (without myocardial infarction) were consecutively included; hs-cTn was measured at admission; the relation between elevated hs-cTn and the clinical outcome during hospitalization and at 90 days was analyzed; 93% (n = 174) had hs-cTn above the maximal normal value (14 ng/L); median hs-cTn was 42 ng/L (IQR 24-81). Patients with ejection fraction (EF) ≤ 45% had higher hs-cTn values (p = 0.
Objective: Pulmonary vascular remodeling, the pathological hallmark of pulmonary arterial hypertension, is attributed to proliferation, apoptosis resistance, and migration of vascular cells. A role of dysregulated matrix cross-linking and stability as a pathogenic mechanism has received little attention. We aimed to assess whether matrix cross-linking enzymes played a causal role in experimental pulmonary hypertension (PH).

Its pathophysiology has not been clearly established, the proposed causes are ischemia due to increased right ventricle wall stress, transient increased pulmonary hypertension resulting in acute pulmonary artery dilatation and external compression of the left main coronary artery (LMCA) by a dilated pulmonary artery. We report and discuss here three cases where the association between chest pain and compression of the LMCA by a dilated pulmonary artery could be shown, and they were treated with coronary stenting.
