The reaction of cyclic carbonates with amines is the most attractive among the synthesis methods for isocyanate-free polyurethane. Non-isocyanate polyurethane films with SiO NPs fabricated by a sol-gel process are reported, where cyclic carbonates (CC) were produced under mild conditions by CO insertion in an epoxide complex in the presence of LiCl. A reaction of CC and polyamines was carried out in a low concentration polymer matrix of PVA.

In this work, polyaniline (PANI) is synthesized via oxidative polymerization of aniline and purified using organic solvents where the emeraldine phase is isolated by employing a phase separation system. The above contributes to the increase in the percentage yield compared to previous works and the possibility of being used as a single phase. In addition, the PANI/AgNPs composite is prepared in situ at the polymerization of aniline, adding silver nitrate and glycine to create the AgNPs inside the PANI matrix by controlling the pH, temperature, time of reaction and incorporating a new purification technique.

This study reports the optical, structural, electrical and dielectric properties of Poly (vinyl alcohol) thin films membranes with embedded ZnO nanoparticles (PVA/ZnO) obtained by the solution casting method at low temperature of deposition. Fourier Transform Infrared spectra showed the characteristics peaks, which correspond to O⁻H and Zn⁻O bonds present in the hybrid material. The X-ray diffraction patterns indicated the presence of ZnO structure into the films.

In this work, we report the synthesis and purification of polyvinyl alcohol-polyaniline (PVA⁻PANI) copolymers at different aniline concentrations, and their molecular (¹H-NMR and FTIR), thermal (TGA/DTG/DSC), optical (UV⁻Vis-NIR), and microstructural (XRD and SEM) properties before and after activation with glutaraldehyde (GA) in order to obtain an active membrane. The PVA⁻PANI copolymers were synthesized by chemical oxidation of aniline using ammonium persulfate (APS) in an acidified (HCl) polyvinyl alcohol matrix. The obtained copolymers were purified by dialysis and the precipitation⁻redispersion method in order to eliminate undesired products and compare changes due to purification.
