Knowing that many people have cardiovascular risk factors (CVRF), the main objective was to demonstrate that CVRF and carotid plaques produce NVC alterations.
Methods: Cross-sectional unicentric study carried out from 2020 to 2023.
Introduction: Debate is ongoing regarding the best service model for achieving a prompt recanalization in LVO ischemic stroke with an indication for thrombectomy. We aim to assess differences between two of the existing models within our region.
Methods: We work in a cluster of three public hospitals (one hub and two spokes) forming a single functional neurology service in Madrid (Spain).
Background: We examined whether high-sensitivity CRP (hsCRP) reflected the inflammatory disease status evaluated by clinical and ultrasound (US) parameters in RA patients receiving IL-6 receptor antibodies (anti-IL-6R) or JAK inhibitors (JAKi).
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study of patients with established RA receiving anti-IL-6R (tocilizumab, sarilumab) or JAKi (tofacitinib, baricitinib). Serum hsCRP and US synovitis in both hands were measured.
Objective: To design a strategy for the early detection and referral of patients with possible spondyloarthritis based on recommendations developed, agreed upon, and directed to primary care physicians.
Methods: We used a modified RAND/UCLA methodology plus a systematic literature review. The information was presented to a discussion group formed by rheumatologists and primary care physicians.

Methods: The GEMA (Gout Evaluation and MAnagement) study is a cross-sectional audit in which 803 files of patients with an International Classification of Diseases code of gout were randomly chosen from 41 rheumatology units. The data collected regarded the clinical management of gout.
Background And Aims: Sociodemographic changes affecting the elderly population and the family role in providing home care call for reorganization of formal community care services. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of home care needs and the factors associated with unmet home care needs among community-dwelling elderly people in Spain.
Methods: The data were derived from a representative sample of community-dwelling elderly people living in a town of the metropolitan area of Madrid (N = 1135).
Aim: To validate the 'Prueba Cognitiva de Leganés' (PCL) as a screening tool for cognitive impairment in elderly people with little formal education.
Methods: The PCL is a simple cognitive test with 32 items that includes two scores of orientation and memory and a global score of 0-32 points. It was applied to a population sample of 527 elderly people over 70 with low educational level, who were independently diagnosed by consensus between two neurologists as having normal cognitive function, age associated cognitive decline (AACD, IPA-OMS criteria) or dementia (DSM-IV criteria).
