The aims of this descriptive study were to determine the academic profile of nurses in a university hospital, assess their level of knowledge about magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and verify whether this knowledge was acquired during their undergraduate or graduate education. Ninety randomly selected nurses working in inpatient wards and outpatient units of a university hospital participated in the study. The purpose of this study is to describe the experience of a group of nurses in the development of a computerized system to manage nursing care indicators at Hospital São Paulo. Four stages were used to implement the indicator management system: developing a nursing care indicator handbook; performing a manually registered pilot test; developing the computerized system; and performing the pilot test of the computerized system in eleven units at the hospital.

Aiming to offer patients a positive experience that differs from the routine of the hospital environment, some units of the Hospiral São Paulo received the visit of an animal for sessions of Animal-Assisted Therapy. The results achieved among patients and its companions and health professionals were positive, in addition to arouse the attention and the interest of other health institutions and the media.
