Floodwater mosquitoes provoke nuisance due to their mass emergence. Citizen complaints about outstanding events of mosquitoes in urban areas are usually reflected in local media and could be potentially used as data. Our objective was to build a temperature dependent function to characterize the immature development time of the floodwater mosquito Ae.

We present here an analysis of recombination at targeted chromosomal 5' overhang DSB generated by the FnCas12a endonuclease in the plant, . The much-studied Cas9 nuclease cleaves DNA to generate blunt-ended DSBs, but relatively less is known about the repair of other types of breaks, such as those with 5'-overhanging ends.

Furthermore, this article aims to relate these histological alterations to the auditory changes generated.
Methods: Cochlear implantation was performed, following the principles of minimally traumatic surgery (MTS), in 15 ears of nonhuman primates (Macaca fascicularis) (Mf) with normal hearing.
The tourism sector after COVID-19 has raised different concerns that have lead to a development towards a more sustainable model of tourism. After the health crisis, the increase in environmental awareness of tourists has become evident. In this context, the great paradigm of 'small-scale' tourism has been developed as opposed to traditional tourism.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTourism has grown steadily in recent decades, becoming a strategic sector for the economy in many countries. However, the environmental impacts associated with tourism have also experienced an upward trend. In this sense, innovation is needed in the tourism sector, to move towards new models and strategies that integrate environmental sustainability with the social aspects of the sector.

Complications are uncommon, with a reported rate of 0-6% in the literature. Bowel perforation has only been described in a few case reports but requires rapid diagnosis and treatment.

The objective of the work was to analyse the impact of lockdown on psychosocial factors of nursing home residents, relatives and clinical staff and how these variables have influenced residents' survival.
Methods: A prospective study was designed.
The evolution of structural proteins is generally constrained by the folding stability. However, little is known about the particular capacity of viral proteins to accommodate mutations that can potentially affect the protein stability and, in general, the evolution of the protein stability over time. As an illustrative model case, here, we investigated the evolution of the stability of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV-1) protease (PR), which is a common HIV-1 drug target, under diverse evolutionary scenarios that include (1) intra-host virus evolution in a cohort of seventy-five patients sampled over time, (2) intra-host virus evolution sampled before and after specific PR-based treatments, and (3) inter-host evolution considering extant and ancestral (reconstructed) PR sequences from diverse HIV-1 subtypes.

Background: The use of telemedicine is increasingly being implemented, showing numerous benefits over other methods. A good example of this is the use of telemedicine following the breakdown caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Previous experiences with telemedicine (TM) have not been significantly explored in relation to the professionals' own perspectives.

The repair of the programmed DNA double strand breaks that initiate meiotic recombination requires two DNA strand-exchange proteins, RAD51 and DMC1, to search for and invade an intact DNA molecule on the homologous chromosome. DMC1 is meiosis-specific, while RAD51 is essential for both mitotic and meiotic homologous recombination.

In this work, a wide range of different sources including newspapers, technical reports, and books was consulted in order to recover information about catastrophic flood events in Badajoz (Spain). A set of 37 catastrophic floods of the Guadiana River that occurred in Badajoz in the winter months (DJFM - December, January, February, and March) have been recovered since 1500 CE.

We present the first international initiative to compile and share information on pro pluvia rogation ceremonies, which is a well-studied proxy of agricultural drought. Currently, the database has more than 3500 dates of celebration of rogation ceremonies, providing information for 153 locations across 11 countries spanning the period from 1333 to 1949.

Patients And Methods: Patients diagnosed with mCPRC not previously treated with chemotherapy and administered with AA+P were classified into two groups: those with lower and higher survival rates (at 30 months vs. 60 months).
Controversy exists regarding whether the rate of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence after orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) differs when using livers from donation after controlled circulatory death (DCD) versus livers from donation after brain death (DBD). The aim of this cohort study was to analyze rates of HCC recurrence, patient survival, and graft survival after OLT for HCC, comparing recipients of DBD livers (n = 103) with recipients of uncontrolled DCD livers (uDCD; n = 41). No significant differences in tumor size, tumor number, serum alpha-fetoprotein, proportion of patients within Milan criteria, or pre-OLT bridging therapies were identified between groups, although the waitlist period was significantly shorter in the uDCD group (p = 0.

It is a motor protein that translocates along dsDNA and performs multiple functions in homologous recombination. In particular, RAD54 is an essential cofactor for regulating RAD51 activity.

Design: Ten healthy and normal hearing cynomolgus macaques (Mf) were divided into two cohorts: DEXEL group (DG) (CONCERTO CI device containing a DEXEL) and conventional CI group (CG) (unmodified CONCERTO CI device). The electrode was inserted into the scala tympani via the round window with an angle of insertion of 270 degrees.
Skin is being increasingly exposed to artificial blue light due to the extensive use of electronic devices. This, together with recent observations reporting that blue light-also known as high-energy visible light-can exert cytotoxic effects associated with oxidative stress and promote hyperpigmentation, has sparked interest in blue light and its potential harmful effects on skin. The photoprotective properties of new extracts of different botanicals with antioxidant activity are therefore being studied.

Design: Double-blind, randomized, controlled trial.
We report a case of a symptomatic forearm deformity due to a premature distal ulnar fracture solved by 3D custom made cutting guides. Our patient is a sixteen years old girl referred to us due to a forearm deformity and a dysplasic ulnar head associated to pain at the dorsum of the distal ulna and at the radial head at the elbow. Using custom-made cutting guides on a 3D model, a both bone forearm osteotomy was performed.

Desvenlafaxine is an antidepressant (AD) with noradrenergic and serotonergic action that can cause a lower SD than other serotonergic ADs although there are still few studies on this subject.
Objective: To check the frequency of SD in two groups of depressive patients: one group was desvenlafaxine-naïve; the other was made up of patients switched to desvenlafaxine from another AD due to iatrogenic sexual dysfunction.
