ECHO project in atopic dermatitis in Argentina: An innovative strategy to reach underserved areas with up to date knowledge, first year of experience.

Background: The ECHO® (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) project is a model of distance medical education developed in the United States to support health professionals in the management of patients with complex diseases. Since 2019, it has been implemented in atopic dermatitis (AD) in Argentina. The program consists of the periodic presentation of clinical cases by videoconference, virtual classes, and a permanently available open chat between professionals in charge of patients with AD and a group of experts.

[Teledermatology during de COVID-19 pandemic in a public hospital].

Telemedicine refers to the use of information and communication technologies to provide health care. Dermatology is particularly suited for this virtual modality. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased the use of telemedicine worldwide which has demonstrated to be useful in promoting social distancing and in avoiding the overload of the healthcare system.

A Dynamic Definition of Acute Kidney Injury Does not Improve Prognosis Assessment in Acutely Decompensated Patients with Cirrhosis.

Background/objectives: to compare the prognostic accuracy for 28 and 90-day transplant-free mortality of a modified CLIF-SOFA score (including a dynamic definition of acute kidney injury) with that of the classic CLIF-SOFA score and KDIGO score for acute kidney injury in patients with acute decompensation of cirrhosis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of all admissions of acutely decompensated patients with cirrhosis was carried out from January 2012 to December 2014. Classic and modified CLIF-SOFA scores were analyzed, as well as acute kidney injury diagnosis using the KDIGO score regarding their accuracy for 28- and 90-day transplant free mortality prediction.
