Purpose: To evaluate the agreement between anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) measurement of preoperative distance from the limbus to the horizontal rectus muscle insertion and intraoperative measurement in patients who have previously undergone strabismus surgery and required reoperation.
Methods: Subjects from two ophthalmological centers were included. Preoperative AS-OCT was used to measure the muscle insertion from the limbus, and intraoperative measurements were obtained using calipers.

Purpose: This study aims to describe the clinical characteristics of scleritis in a large cohort of Colombian patients and identify factors associated with the clinical presentation.
Methods: Retrospective case series of patients with scleritis from 2015 to 2020. Clinical records were obtained from seven uveitis referral centers in Colombia.
Purpose: Evaluate optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) features in retinal vein occlusions (RVO) associated with visual outcomes after anti-VEGF.
Methods: Analytical observational study performed in eyes with macular edema secondary to RVO treated with anti-VEGF, with at least 6 months of follow-up. Bradley et al.
Purpose: To report visual and topographic outcomes of pediatric keratoconus with intracorneal ring segments (ICRS) implantation alone or in combination with accelerated corneal cross-linking (A-CXL).
Methods: A descriptive, retrospective observational study was performed. Medical records of patients younger than 18 years at Fundación Oftalmológica Nacional in Bogotá, Colombia, were reviewed.
Objective: To evaluate the costs of oral rehydration therapy (ORT) and nasogastric rehydration therapy (NRT) compared with intravenous rehydration therapy (IRT) to treat dehydration in children under 5 years of age with diarrhea.
Methodology: Cost-minimization analysis from the perspective of the Colombian Health System, comparing ORT, (followed by NRT when ORT fails), with IRT. The time horizon was the duration of rehydration.
Introduction: Acute coronary syndrome is one of the most frequent medical emergencies in developing countries.
Objective: To determine, from the perspective of the Colombian health system, the cost-effectiveness of ticagrelor compared to clopidogrel for the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis from the perspective of the Colombian health system comparing ticagrelor and clopidogrel for the treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome.
Leptospira spp., which comprise 3 clusters (pathogenic, saprophytic, and intermediate) that vary in pathogenicity, infect >1 million persons worldwide each year. The disease burden of the intermediate leptospires is unclear.

Methods: The cost-effectiveness analysis was performed from the perspective of the Colombian health system. The standard treatment with the addition of zinc was compared with the standard treatment without zinc in children younger than 5 years.
Leptospires can persist for months in nutrient-poor aqueous environments prior to transmission to a mammalian host. Interactions with environmental bacteria and biofilm formation are possible mechanisms of persistence of leptospires in the environment. Bacteria isolated from rivers in the Ecuadorian rainforest were tested for their ability to support leptospiral viability.
