Introduction: Hormone therapy (HT) for breast cancer is associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). This study examines the effects of continuing versus discontinuing HT on VTE recurrence, major bleeding, and mortality, after an acute VTE event.
Methods: Using data in the RIETE-registry from March 2001 through September 2021, we calculated incidence rates and rate-ratios (RR) for VTE events in patients on- and off HT.
Background: Haematuria is a common complication in prostate cancer patients receiving anticoagulation for venous thromboembolism (VTE). Early identification of at-risk patients might help to reduce its incidence and severity.
Methods: We used data from the RIETE registry to develop a prognostic score for haematuria during the first year of anticoagulation for VTE.
The association between elevated liver enzymes or FIB-4 (fibrosis index 4) and outcome in patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE) has not been evaluated. Data from patients in RIETE (Registro Informatizado Enfermedad TromboEmbólica) were used to assess the association between elevated liver enzymes or FIB-4 levels and the rates of major bleeding or death in apparent liver disease-free patients with acute VTE under anticoagulation therapy. A total of 6206 patients with acute VTE and without liver disease were included.

However, limited data exist on patient characteristics, treatments, and outcomes. To describe the clinical characteristics, treatment patterns, and short-term outcomes of patients diagnosed with VTE during hospitalization for COVID-19.

The relative frequency and clinical consequences of premature discontinuation in contemporary patients remain unknown.
Methods: We used the data from RIETE, an international registry of patients with venous thromboembolism (VTE), to identify patients with proximal (above knee) lower limb DVT who prematurely discontinued anticoagulation.
Patients with cirrhosis are not only at an increased risk of bleeding but also at risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). We sought to determine the clinical characteristics, management, and outcomes after VTE in patients with cirrhosis. We used the data from RIETE (Registro Informatizado de la Enfermedad TromboEmbolica), an international registry of patients with VTE, to compare the outcomes in patients with and without cirrhosis.

We used the RIETE (Registro Informatizado Enfermedad TromboEmbólica) database to assess the clinical characteristics, time course, and outcomes during anticoagulation of lung cancer patients with acute, symptomatic VTE. As of May 2017, a total of 1,725 patients were recruited: 1,208 (70%) presented with pulmonary embolism (PE) and 517 with deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
