Two novel ternary albendazole-cyclodextrin-polymer systems: dissolution, bioavailability and efficacy against Taenia crassiceps cysts.

The effect of two water-soluble polymers: pectin and polyvinylpyrrolidone in combination with beta-cyclodextrin, on the dissolution, bioavailability and cysticidal efficacy of albendazole was evaluated using a commercial suspension as reference product. The dissolution of the albendazole-beta-cyclodextrin-pectin formulation was slow and incomplete (44.7%).

Evidence of RIP (repeat-induced point mutation) in transposase sequences of Aspergillus oryzae.

A DNA methyl-binding column was used to isolate genomic fragments enriched for DNA-methylation from Aspergillus parasiticus. One of the isolated sequences presented 67% identity at the protein level with the transposase from the transposable element Tan1 of Aspergillus niger var. awamori, and was found to be present in at least 20 copies in the Aspergillus oryzae database.

Myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma: a tumor not restricted to acral sites.

We report on nine new cases of myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma; in six of them the location of the tumor was distal (acral), and proximal in three (forearm, arm, and thigh). Tumors varied in size from 1.5 to 18 cm, were well-circumscribed, yellow-tan, and focally myxomatous.
