Article Synopsis
  • Neuromodulation through transcutaneous electrical stimulation (TENS) has been studied for its effectiveness in treating overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms in children, particularly in a structured 20-session therapy.
  • Children aged 4 and older with isolated OAB were included, and their improvement was assessed using a visual analog scale before each session, without the use of anticholinergic medications.
  • The study found that significant symptom relief was reported relatively early in therapy, with 55.1% of patients experiencing complete symptom resolution by the final session, and those showing improvement by the fifth session were significantly more likely to see continued success.
