Objectives: Despite advancements in HIV diagnosis and treatment, advanced HIV disease (AHD) is still a significant concern worldwide, especially in countries with a high percentage of undiagnosed cases and late-stage diagnoses.

Methods: A prospective pilot study was conducted in Buenos Aires, Argentina to assess the feasibility of implementing a package for people living with HIV, integrating a point-of-care clusters of differentiation (CD4) test, followed by rapid and antigen (Ag) detection.

Results: A total of 105 people living with HIV were enrolled, during June 2021 to October 2021.

Rapid identification of microorganisms is critical in hospitalized infected patients. Blood culture is currently the gold standard for detecting and identifying microorganisms causing bacteremia or sepsis. The introduction of mass spectrometry by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF MS) in microbiology laboratories, especially in microorganisms growing in blood culture bottles, provides rapid identification.

PEComa of the nasal cavity with worrisome histologic features and benign behavior: a case report.

Objectives: PEComas (perivascular epithelioid cell tumors) are a family of neoplastic lesions that share overlapping ultrastructure and morphological and immunohistochemical appearance and include angiomyolipoma, lymphangioleiomyomatosis, and clear cell "sugar" tumor of the lung, as well as similar tumors that occur in a variety of visceral, cutaneous, and soft tissue sites throughout the body.

The present study aims to investigate the association between morphological parameters of FEA and presence of malignancy at surgical excision (SE) and the clinical significance of the association of FEA with ADH and/or LIN. This study included 589 cases of stereotactic 11-gauge vacuum-assisted needle core biopsy (VANCB), reporting a diagnosis of FEA, ADH or LIN with subsequent SE from 14 pathology departments in Italy.

The widespread implementation of mammography screening has resulted in an increased frequency of needle core biopsies (NCB). The aim of this study was that of evaluating the diagnostic reproducibility on breast NCB, according to the B-classification, among several pathologists from different Italian regions. Fifty single slides of NCBs performed for non palpable breast lesions were selected to evaluate the diagnostic reproducibility, according to the B classification, among 31 pathologists from different Italian areas, involved in the pathologic diagnosis of screen-detected breast lesions.

One of the most controversial issues in breast pathology is whether lobular neoplasia (LN) is a risk factor or a precursor lesion of invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC). This is consequent to the fact that no conclusive data on the biology of LN exist. Molecular studies of LN and ILC are scanty, variable, and not consistent.

Bonding to dentin achieved by general practitioners.

The objectives of this study were (1) to investigate the effect of operator variability on the shear bond strength of adhesives to dentin and (2) to determine the effectiveness of education on bonding performance for different types of adhesives. Thirty general practitioners were recruited for a CE course by a regional mailing. They used bovine dentin as a substrate for bonding the adhesive system they routinely used in practice and two other materials (no previous experience).
