Introduction And Hypothesis: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) can enhance muscle function in healthy individuals. However, it is unknown if tDCS associated with pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) can improve pelvic floor muscle function (PFMF) in healthy women. The aim of this study was to investigate the acute effect of a single session of tDCS in PFMF compared with sham-tDCS in healthy women.

The objective was to verify the relationship (association) between fatigue and non-motor and motor symptoms of PD.
Methods: A cross-sectional study which included 100 individuals with PD.
Background: Turning while walking is a complex component of locomotor capacity, which can be challenging in the daily lives of people with Parkinson's disease. The aim of the study was to compare biomechanical strategies during turning of gait in individuals with Parkinson's disease and its different clinical subtypes.
Methods: A cross-sectional study, comprising of 43 individuals with idiopathic Parkinson's disease, divided in subgroups: akineto-rigid, dominant tremor and mixed.
Objective: To implement a telerehabilitation prevention, treatment, and follow-up physical therapy protocol for monitoring individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) and to verify its effectiveness in minimizing the deleterious effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Design: Prospective case series, involving 40 participants with mild to moderate PD recruited from a specialized neurorehabilitation group. The study was divided into four parts: (1) Phone calls to assess the feasibility of participating in remote physical therapy.
This study confirms the uptake, translocation and bioaccumulation of 100 nm polystyrene nanoplastics in the root, stem and leaves of the plant Lepidum sativum at exposure concentrations ranging from environmentally realistic 10 μg/L up to a high of 100 mg/L. Accumulation in plant tissues was characterised by aggregation in the intercellular spaces and heterogeneous distribution. Nanoplastic presence was confirmed in the root tips, root surface and stele, lateral roots, root hairs, stem vascular bundles, leaf veins and mesophyll, as well as leaf epidermis including stomatal sites.

Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to determine HER2, TROP2 and PD-L1 levels in 459 TNBC cases, that received in the adjuvant/neoadjuvant setting active surveillance, CMF, anthracycline-, anthracycline plus taxane-, or carboplatin-containing regimes.
Sleep disorders are disabling and highly prevalent comorbidities in Parkinson's disease (PD). This study's objective was to verify the effectiveness of neurofunctional physiotherapy in sleep quality, objectively and subjectively assessing it among individuals with PD. A sample of individuals with PD was assessed before and after 32 physiotherapy sessions and three months later (follow-up).

Background: Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) panels are increasingly used in advanced patients with cancer to guide therapy. There is, however, controversy about when should these panels be used, and about their impact on the clinical course.
Methods: In an observational study of 139 patients with cancer having an NGS test [from January 1st, 2017 to December 30th, 2020, in two hospitals (Hospital Universitario de La Princesa and Hospital Universitario Quironsalud Madrid) from Spain], we evaluated whether the clinical course (progression-free survival, PFS) was influenced by drug-based criteria [druggable alterations, receiving a recommended drug, having a favourable ESCAT category (ESMO Scale for Clinical Actionability of molecular Targets)] or clinical judgement criteria.
Introduction: In the present study we evaluated the features of different recombinant forms of Zika virus (ZIKV) proteins produced in either bacterial () or insect cells (). The ZIKV-envelope glycoprotein (E) is responsible for virus entry into host cells, is the main target of neutralizing antibodies and has been used as a target antigen either for serological tests or for the development of subunit vaccines. The E is composed of three structural and functional domains (EDI, EDII, and EDIII), which share extensive sequence conservation with the corresponding counterparts expressed by other flaviviruses, particularly the different dengue virus (DENV) subtypes.

We hypothesized that single-nucleotide polymorphisms that impaired p27Kip1 function could render patients refractory to endocrine therapy but responsive to CDK4/6 inhibitors, narrowing the patient subpopulation that requires CDK4/6 inhibitors.

Application methods of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) in Parkinson's disease (PD) are quite divergent making it difficult to define the clinical effectiveness of the tDCS on PD. Thus, the aim of this study was to verify the acute effects of tDCS when applied to different targets (Cz or C3-Cz-C4) combined to physical therapy to improve balance and gait in individuals with PD. A randomized controlled trial was conducted, with 50 individuals who were separated into four groups: 1) Real tDCS (Cz) + physical therapy, 2) Real tDCS (C3-Cz-C4) + physical therapy, 3) Sham tDCS + physical therapy and 4) Educational lecture + physical therapy.

The formation constants for each system containing β-cyclodextrin, L-aspartic acid, histidine and N-acetylcysteine were determined by Scott's method and statistical studies. The structure of the binary systems with β-cyclodextrin and N-acetylcysteine was elucidated by NMR experiments.

Several changes in thrombin generation (TG)-derived parameters have been described in multiple myeloma (MM) patients recently. Assessment of prothrombotic risk with a fully automated TG analyzer could reduce interlaboratory variability.

Methods: Participants in the cross-sectional study were 394 adolescents (208 girls), aged 10-14 years, from sixth grade from Londrina, Paraná, Brazil. The sedentary time pattern was measured through accelerometry.
This is a cross-sectional study on the availability of prescribed medicines in Primary Health Care (PHC), with a probabilistic sample of 1,221 users of public pharmacies in a health pole municipality in Minas Gerais, in 2017. Medicine availability indicators were estimated, and a hierarchical logistic regression was performed, according to the behavioral model of health service use. Only 39.

Purpose/objective(s): Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) has become the standard of care for patients with medically inoperable early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and for patients who refuse surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of primary SBRT in patients with early-stage NSCLC.
Materials/methods: Retrospective multicenter study of 397 patients (416 primary lung tumours) treated with SBRT at 18 centres in Spain.
Preclinical evidence indicates the potential of targeting mitochondrial respiration as a therapeutic strategy. We previously demonstrated that mitochondrial inhibitors' efficacy was restricted to a metabolic context in which mitochondrial respiration was the predominant energy source, a situation achievable by inducing vascular normalization/hypoxia correction with antiangiogenics. Using molecular imaging, we showed how the same antiangiogenic agent may display different normalizing properties in patients with the same tumor type.

Thus, mitochondrial metabolism inhibition has emerged as a promising anticancer strategy. In this review, we discuss the anticancer potential of mitochondrial inhibitors, with particular focus on metformin, in the context of more effective, targeted therapeutic modalities, and diagnostic strategies for cancer patients.
