Borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs) account for approximately 15% of all epithelial ovarian cancers. In 80% of cases the diagnosis of BOTs is done at stage I and more than a third of BOTs occurs in women younger than 40 years of age wishing to preserve their childbearing potential; the issue of conservative surgical management (fertility-sparing treatment) is thus becoming of paramount importance. At early stages, the modalities of conservative treatment could range from mono-lateral cystectomy to bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy.

Materials And Methods: A single-center observational prospective case-control study was performed to assess the improvement of menopausal symptoms in menopausal women undergone iCR administration (cases) or no treatment (controls). Menopausal symptoms were assessed through a modified version of the Menopause Rating Scale questionnaire (mMRS) at T (baseline), T (1-month follow-up), and T (3 months follow-up).

Eleven strains of LAB were characterized for growth kinetics, the capability to grow in vegetable-based medium (VBM), production of organic acids and the ability to tolerate heat-stress. Three strains ( Ls71, Ls72, and Ls141) were selected and further characterized for the ability to grow as single strain or in co-culture in MRS and VMB medium, to survive at freeze and spray-drying process, for their performance as SD bacteria in micro-silos and for the aerobic stability in bucket silos.

Several excisional and ablative treatments for CIN have been studied, with loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) and cryotherapy being the two most commonly utilized. The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was to compare the compare harms and benefits of LEEP versus cryotherapy in women with CIN.
