Purpose: To investigate the effect of Brassica oleracea herbal balsam on the healing of skin wounds in rats.
Methods: Twenty four rats (Wistar, 60 days, 250 g) were divided into four groups: untreated animals (C) and treated with the ointment (T), subdivided into two experimental times (seven and 16 days). A 3cm² skin wound was made in the back of all animals.
Home care within the health area has largely been improving the life quality of patients and their relatives. It has been an efficient alternative in health care as an answer to meet the needs of patients with chronic diseases, because it does not expose them to nosocomial risks, thus avoiding rehospitalizations and having to stay away from their family life, besides the evident reduction of costs. Nevertheless, it is observed there is a shortage of specific equipments that provide the necessary support in this care modality.

The same study had been done with the noises made by the following equipments, that are normaly used in operating-rooms: eletric Valleylab, Emai, Bovie, Burdick bistouries; Takaoka, Narcofolex, Aga, Oftec respirators; Takaoka, Medap, Card, Oftec aspirators; Dremel, Kaltembach und Voigt drills; eletric Bone Stryker Saw and, FUNBEC cardioscopic. It was confronted, yet, the noise made by aparatus of different trade marks, but, with the same functions, like: respirators, aspirators, eletric bistuories and eletric drills.
