Mammalian cell membranes are very dynamic where they respond to several environmental stimuli by rearranging the membrane composition by basic biological processes, including endocytosis. In this context, receptor-mediated endocytosis, either clathrin-dependent or caveolae-dependent, is involved in different physiological and pathological conditions. In the last years, an important amount of evidence has been reported that kidney function involves the modulation of different types of endocytosis, including renal protein handling.

Herein, we describe the cardiovascular phenotype of a new transgenic rat line (TG7371) that expresses an Ang-(1-7)-producing fusion protein. The transgene-specific mRNA and the corresponding protein were shown to be present in all evaluated tissues of TG7371 with the highest expression in aorta and brain.

Four compounds were isolated and identified, namely: dolastane diterpene new for the genus ; phaeophytin and hidroxy-phaeophytin new for the family Dictyotaceae, and; mannitol first described in this species. Saturated fatty acids as compared to the percentages of unsaturated fatty acids were shown to be present in greater abundance.
