The label severe and enduring anorexia nervosa (SE-AN) is widely used in the literature on longstanding anorexia nervosa (AN). However, the process of constructing the criteria and the use of the label SE-AN has ethical implications that have not been taken into account. Through combining existing literature and lived experience perspective, this paper addresses to what extent the current criteria do and do not reflect the lived experience.

Objective: This paper identifies the multiple adversities and trauma experienced by children who are detained after seeking asylum. A conceptual framework identifies the specific impact of immigration detention on the psychosocial development and mental health of refugee children that can inform policy and prevent additional migration-related trauma.

Method: The paper draws on international evidence about the impact of childhood adversity, challenges faced by all displaced children, and the additional negative consequences of immigration detention.

Background: Eating disorders (EDs), such as (atypical) Anorexia (AN) and Bulimia Nervosa (BN), are difficult to treat, causing socioeconomic impediments. Although enhanced cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT-E) is widely considered clinically effective, it may not be the most beneficial treatment for (atypical) AN and BN patients who do not show a rapid response after the first 4 weeks (8 sessions) of a CBT-E treatment. Alternatively, group schema therapy (GST) may be a valuable treatment for this ED population.

The bundle of forest landowners' rights largely varies from one jurisdiction to another. On a global scale, the diversity of forest management regime and property rights systems is such that finding comprehensive and standardised approaches for governance analysis purposes is a challenging task. This paper explores the use of the Property Rights Index for Forestry (PRIF) as an analytical tool based on five rights domains (access, withdrawal, management, exclusion, and alienation) to assess how regulatory frameworks impact the owners' forest property rights.

Objective: Children in asylum-seeking families are increasingly subject to deterrent host nation policies that undermine security in the post-migration context, however, little is known on the mental health consequences of such policy. This study examined the impact of prolonged visa insecurity on child mental health, by comparing two cohorts of refugee children entering Australia between 2010 and 2013, distinguished by visa security.

Methods: The insecure visa sample comprised children from Tamil asylum-seeking families, while the secure visa sample was drawn from refugee families participating in the multi-ethnic 'Building a New Life in Australia' cohort study.

Liddle syndrome is an inherited form of arterial hypertension with autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance. It is caused by activating mutation of genes coding of the epithelial sodium channel in distal nephron. Mutation leads to excessive reabsorbtion of sodium ions and volume expansion resulting in arterial hypertension.

Background: The prognosis for underweight individuals with an eating disorder (ED) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is worse than for their peers without these comorbid symptoms. This qualitative study explores the experiences of trauma-focused Imagery Rescripting (ImRs) therapy of underweight inpatients being treated for an ED.

Objective: To test the feasibility and to improve ImRs by understanding the experiences and perspectives of people with an ED and PTSD who, when underweight, received ImRs as an adjunct to their inpatient ED treatment.

Reducing the rate of over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care (OOHC) is a key Closing the Gap target committed to by all Australian governments. Current strategies are failing. The "gap" is widening, with the rate of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in OOHC at 30 June 2020 being 11 times that of non-Indigenous children.

Calcium (Ca) is well known as a second messenger in eukaryotes, where Ca signaling controls life-sustaining cellular processes. Although bacteria produce the components required for Ca signaling, little is known about the mechanisms of bacterial Ca signaling. Previously, we have identified a putative Ca-binding protein EfhP (PA4107) with two canonical EF-hand motifs and reported that EfhP mediates Ca regulation of virulence factors production and infectivity in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a human pathogen causing life-threatening infections.

Background: Eating disorder patients with posttraumatic stress disorder have worse treatment results regarding their eating disorder than patients without posttraumatic stress disorder. Many eating disorder patients with co-morbid posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms are not treated for posttraumatic stress disorder symptoms during an underweight state. We propose that treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder is possible for underweight patients and that their trauma symptoms decrease with the use of Imagery Rescripting.

Objective: One of the prevailing theories of eating disorders (ED) is the transdiagnostic cognitive behavioural theory of eating disorders, which suggests that certain ED symptoms, such as over-valuation of eating, shape, and weight, may be more central than others. In the present study, network analyses were used to evaluate these assumptions in a patient sample.

Methods: Participants were 336 individuals receiving treatment at an expert center for ED in the Netherlands.

Purpose: Liddle syndrome is a hereditary form of arterial hypertension caused by mutations in the genes coding of the epithelial sodium channel - SCNN1A, SCNN1B and SCNN1G. It is characterised by early onset of hypertension and variable biochemical features such as hypokalaemia and low plasma concentrations of renin and aldosterone. Phenotypic variability is large and, therefore, LS is probably underdiagnosed.

Objective: This paper highlights the significant mental health vulnerabilities of people who have sought asylum in Australia and their additional adversities as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Conclusions: Australia's policies in relation to asylum seekers result in multiple human rights violations and add significantly to mental health vulnerabilities. Despite a majority being identified as refugees, people spend years in personal and administrative limbo and are denied resettlement in Australia.

Stiffening of large arteries, clinically manifesting as increased aortic pulse wave velocity (PWV), is an inevitable outcome of aging. Among other mechanisms, impaired glucose metabolism plays an important role, leading to the deposition of advanced glycation end products (AGEs). This process is counterbalanced by the circulating soluble receptor for AGEs (sRAGE).

infects patients with cystic fibrosis, burns, wounds and implants. Previously, our group showed that elevated Ca positively regulates the production of several virulence factors in , such as biofilm formation, production of pyocyanin and secreted proteases. We have identified a Ca-regulated β-propeller putative phytase, CarP, which is required for Ca tolerance, regulation of the intracellular Ca levels, and plays a role in Ca regulation of virulence.
