Feasibility of home-based cardiac telerehabilitation: Results of TeleInterMed study.

Background: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is recommended as an important component of a comprehensive approach to cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients. Data have shown that a small percentage of eligible patients participate in CR despite their well established benefits. Applying telerehabilitation provides an opportunity to improve the implementation of and adherence to CR.

[Results of hypertensive treatment in outpatient hypertension clinics with different payment status].

Background: Arterial hypertension concerns about 40% of adult population in Poland. WOBASZ study shows that vast majority of hypertonics in Poland are treated unsuccessfully. The aim of study was to compare the effectiveness of hypertension treatment by specialist in different payment status outpatient clinics in 2 periods: 1996-2000 (A) and 2001-2006 (B).

[Intravascular hemolysis after multiple valvular replacement procedures--a case report].

A case of an intravascular hemolysis after multiple aortic and mitral valves replacement is described. Hemolysis was observed after second and third operation of mitral valve prosthesis due to prosthesis dysfunction -- paravalvular leak. We discuss the possibilities of treatment, difficulties in decision making in a patient who is in good condition but hemolysis is clinically significant, not amenable to conventional treatment and there is an increased risk of another operation.
