Purpose: This study aimed to examine determinants of undernutrition among children under 2 years of age.

Design And Methods: A matched case-control study design was conducted to recruit 300 mothers comprising 100 mothers with an undernourished child (case group) and 200 mothers with a healthy child (control group). Measurements consisted of demographic characteristics of children data, mother's data, household data, mother's knowledge of child undernutrition, mother's knowledge of nutrition, complementary feeding practices, and undernutrition parameters of the children.

Resolvins, belonging to the group of specialized proresolving mediators (SPMs), are metabolic products of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (ω-3 PUFAs) and are synthesized during the initial phases of acute inflammatory responses to promote the resolution of inflammation. Resolvins are produced for termination of neutrophil infiltration, stimulation of the clearance of apoptotic cells by macrophages, and promotion of tissue remodeling and homeostasis. Metabolic dysregulation due to either uncontrolled activity of pro-inflammatory responses or to inefficient resolution of inflammation results in chronic inflammation and may also lead to atherosclerosis or other chronic autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and type 1 diabetes mellitus.

The Wnt/β-catenin pathway is an important, dysregulated pathway in several tumor types, including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Although the activation of this pathway is an important component of normal development, its aberrant activation resulting from activating or inactivating mutations in the CTNNB1 gene locus, or in the negative regulators AXIN and APC involving stabilization of β-catenin, and activation of target genes leads to a more aggressive phenotype, suggesting its potential value as a therapeutic target in the treatment of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. A number of small molecule and biologic agents have now been developed for targeting this pathway.
