Objective: Compare thermal variation in the region of the External Acoustic Canal (EAC) and the Round Window (RW) using different rigid endoscopes and light sources in human temporal bones.

Method: This is an analytical experimental study using human temporal bones. Thermal variation was assessed during ten minutes, using a thermometer in the region of the EAC and the RW of two temporal bones, right and left.

Introduction: Intralabyrinthine schwannoma is a rare, benign tumor that affects the most terminal portions of the vestibular and cochlear nerves. This tumor can be classified into 10 subtypes, according to its inner ear location.

Objective: To carry out a comprehensive review of the most frequent auditory manifestations secondary to the intralabyrinthine schwannoma, describing the possible underlying pathophysiological mechanisms.

Unlabelled: Public hospitals in Brazil are under capacity for adenotonsillectomies, resulting in a growing waiting line. Otolaryngologists are used to these lines, since they understand that this problem is under govern responsibility. For this reason we believe that joint aid efforts to carry out adenotonsillectomies are justified.
