Malignant insulinomas are frequently diagnosed at a late stage. Medical management is necessary to slow progression of the disease and control of hypoglycemic symptoms when cure by surgical treatment is not possible. Multimodal treatment, in these cases, has been used with variable clinical response.

Methods: Examinations were performed on 611 patients in the imaging department of a referral oncology center. Patients were divided into three groups: preparation with fasting, water, laxatives, and antiflatulents (Group I), preparation with fasting, water, and antiflatulents alone (Group II), or preparation with fasting and water alone (Group III).
Objective: Computed guided percutaneous biopsy of lung lesions is widely accepted as an effective and safe procedure for specific diagnose. The purpose of this study is to present the experience of an oncology center in the use of computed tomography (CT)-guided cutting needle biopsy as an effective procedure for adequate material and specific diagnose of lung lesions.
Subjects And Methods: This study reports a retrospective analysis of 94 consecutive patients admitted in an oncologic center, reference in Brazil (Hospital do Câncer-AC Camargo), between 1996 and 2004, who were submitted to 97 CT guided cutting needle biopsy of pulmonary lesions.
Hemochromatosis can be classified as (a) primary, when it originates from a genetic disturbance that promotes the increase of iron absorption, or (b) secondary, when it relates to chronic diseases or to multiple transfusions. The distribution of iron accumulation differs between these two forms; therefore, they can be distinguished by using imaging methods in the majority of cases. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is the most sensitive and specific imaging modality in the diagnosis of hemochromatosis.
