Microorganisms with multiple ecological functions can be a useful biotechnological resource in integrated pest- and disease-management programs. This work aimed to investigate the potential endophytic and virulent effects of a strain of on organic cultivation in Brazil. Specifically, the strain's ability to establish itself as an endophyte in common bean, soybean, and sunflower plants when inoculated via seed was evaluated.

Resistant hypertension (RH) is characterized by being difficult to control, even with the use of various antihypertensive drugs and is associated with target organ lesions and other comorbidities. Thus, new treatment alternatives such as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) can offer benefits to resistant hypertensive patients by reducing blood pressure (BP) in a non-invasive way and without the need for the association of more antihypertensive drugs. In this case, a patient with RH was submitted to three weekly applications of TENS on the stellate ganglion lasting 40 min each for 1 month.

Heat stress is one of the most important environmental challenges faced by dairy cattle, with a deleterious effect on animal production and welfare. This research was conducted to evaluate the effects of the thermal environment on the physiological and behavioral responses of dairy cattle in a rotational picket. The research was conducted on an experimental farm, located in the Agreste region of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil.

Efforts are being done to find routes to increase their concentrations in the cultivation media because this concentration facilitates applications, storage, and transportation. Some of these routes are co-fermentation and ultrasound-assisted fermentation.

Remarkably, histopathological examination revealed a proliferation of spindle cells in the lamina propria entrapping colonic crypts without evidence of nuclear pleomorphism, mitotic figures or necrosis. On immunohistochemistry, spindle cells were diffusely positive for glucose transporter-1 and negative for S100, DOG1, CD34 and smooth muscle actin.

Although these enzymes are frequently investigated, currently, laccase structural model is unknown. Therefore, this research aims to predict and validate a laccase theoretical model by means of comparative homology.

This activity comprises identifying geological information through the processing and analysis of seismic data represented by different attributes. The interpretation process presents limitations related to its high data volume, own complexity, time consumption, and uncertainties incorporated by the experts' work.

Presentation Of Case: A 57-year-old post-menopausal woman presented with screen-detected left-sided breast cancer. After undergoing all staging and pre-operative studies the patient was proposed for conservative breast surgery with tumor localization.
Background: videocapsule endoscopy (VCE) is currently the most sensitive diagnostic tool to detect early small bowel inflammation. A Lewis score (LS) of ≥ 135 as the cutoff value for the presence of significant inflammatory activity in patients undergoing VCE for suspected Crohn's disease (CD) has been suggested as a useful tool for the diagnosis of CD. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic accuracy of the LS in patients with suspected CD undergoing VCE.

Joint angle evaluation techniques can be applied to improve sports performance and provide feedback information for prostheses control. Polymer optical fiber (POF) sensors are presented as a novel method to evaluate joint angles, because they are compact, lightweight, flexible and immune to electromagnetic interference.

This is an analytical cross-sectional study with a sampling of diabetic patients from Primary (n = 385) and Specialized (n = 385) Health Care. The dependent variable, quality of life, was evaluated by the Diabetes Quality of Life Measure - Brazil.

Therefore, a cross-sectional, controlled study with 19 DS participants and 19 controls without DS matched by gender and age was performed. Except for vitamin D, a lower or the same frequency of insufficient intake in other micronutrients was noted in participants compared with controls.

Optical absorption (OA) and crystal field theory strongly indicated the substitutional incorporation of Co ions into these semiconducting NCs as well as the characteristic transitions of these ions in the visible and near infrared spectral region. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) images revealed an invariant NC lattice parameter with the incorporation of Mn and Co ions.

Eighty-two patients with chronic TMD and 20 healthy subjects (control group) participated in the study. Patients were randomly assigned to treatment groups: GI (LLLT + OM exercises), GII (orofacial myofunctional therapy-OMT-which contains pain relief strategies and OM-exercises), and GIII (LLLT placebo + OM-exercises) and GIV (LLLT).

Purpose: To analyze the proportion of men and women, as well as the association between gender and age, problem duration, and TMD symptoms in patients admitted to an university clinic for treatment.
Methods: Interview and assessment data of protocols from 1,000 patients diagnosed with TMD were collected and analyzed and then divided into two groups, male (n = 177) and female (n = 823).
